武蔵大学で展覧会・講演会を企画しました！ 歴史哲学・記憶論を優れた形で探究されてきた現代美術家の藤井光さんを紹介する展覧会です。併せて作家と研究者によるトークイベントを実施します。
出展作品はGHQ・SCAPによって接収された戦争画の歴史を主題としたもので、みなさまにも関心をもっていただけるものと期待しております。「3.11」の当日となる初日には、東日本大震災に関する作品上映とトークもあります。

I am pleased to announce that I have organized an exhibition and lecture at Musashi University! This exhibition introduces contemporary artist Hikaru Fujii, who has conducted an excellent exploration of historical philosophy and memory theory. A talk event by the artist and researchers will be held in conjunction with the exhibition.
The exhibited works are based on the history of war paintings confiscated by GHQ and SCAP, and we hope that they will be of interest to everyone. On the first day of the exhibition, the day of "3.11," there will be a screening of works and a talk about the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The paper version of the DM flyer (banner below) was designed by my friend Kotaro Miyake in Tottori and is more than cool, so please get a copy somewhere.
The title of the series, "Creating Art Exhibitions at Non-Art Schools," indicates the underlying theme of expanding the scope of exhibitions and democratizing art exhibits in Japan. I am also experimenting with the possibility of planning exhibitions on campus at our university. I am planning to make it into a serial exhibition. Keep you updated!

「〈歴史〉に憑依する」 「美大じゃない大学で美術展をつくる」の第一弾として、「藤井光〈日本の戦争美術1946〉展を再演する」を開催します。
本展では、藤井光によって2022-23年にかけて発表されたシリーズを紹介します。連合国軍占領期の1946年、東京都美術館でGHQ・SCAPによってひとつの展覧会が開催されたことはあまり知られていません。この展覧会は、有名画家の手による戦争画が「芸術なのかプロパガンダか」精査し、接収した絵画の扱い方を定めるためのものでした。2022年藤井は、東京都現代美術館の展示室内にこの展覧会を再現した〈日本の戦争美術1946〉展を開催し、その歴史や記憶の持つ現代的意味を問うています。翌2023年藤井はさらに同展をオンライン版として発表し、そのピースを販売しました。
過去に起こった出来事を再びその場に再現すること、現在地が持つ時空間の条件を問いながらそれを行うことを〈再演〉と呼ぶのであれば、「あらゆる展覧会は再演である」ということになるのかもしれません。藤井光が「戦後／日本」という時空から召喚した展覧会は、作家自身の手によって再びウェブ空間へと再構築されました。本展はそれらをまた、「大学／人文学部／ホール」という空間で引き受ける試みです。
期間中には、東日本大震災の記憶を主題とした映像作品《核と物》上映会、および、作家と研究者の対談講演も実施します。

‘Possessing History’.
The exhibition will feature a series of works by Hikaru Fujii, exhibited between 2022 and 2023. It is not widely known that in 1946, during the Allied Occupation, GHQ/SCAP organized an exhibition of Japanese “war paintings” at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. In 2022, Fujii simulated and reconstructed this exhibition in the galleries of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo with the exhibition named 〈Japanese War Art 1946〉, questioning the significance of the history and memory of WWII from the perspective of the present day. In the following year 2023, Fujii also presented an online version of the exhibition and sold pieces of the artworks exhibited in the museum in 2022.
If we define “reenactment” as the reconstruction of an event that took place in the past and consider the conditions of time and space in the present, then, we may say that “every exhibition is a certain kind of reenactment.” The 2022 first exhibition that Hikaru Fujii recalled from the time-space of “postwar-Japan” has been reconstructed in the virtual space by the artist himself in 2023. Following these exhibitions, this exhibition at Musashi University is an attempt to “re-enact” this series of works in the space of “University/Faculty of Humanities/Hall.”
The screening of the video work “Les Nucléaires et les Choses,” focusing on the memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake that happened on March 11, 2011, known as “3.11,” and talks between the artist and scholars will be held.
